Our very popular Course handlebar is now available in black. I really like these bars because of their open bends and long flat sections that offer a wide variety of hand positions.
We have the VO 31.8mm stem in stock again. We had discontinued these, but folks kept asking for them so we made another production run. I wonder if we should do a black version?
This is a rather expensive dropout we had made for an upcoming frame. We're pretty proud of the design; when you see the rest of the bike you'l know why.
Many of you have asked for the Piolet geometry. You can now find it here. It's also listed on our frame comparison table.
John and Kate attended the opening of the Marin Museum of Bicycling and Mountain Bike Hall of Fame. Check out their post and photos on the Grand Cruz Blog. You might also want to follow their Twitter feed and Facebook page.
The French tall ship Hermione arrived in Annapolis yesterday. It was really cool to walk down and see her this morning. Lots of festivities and a parade are taking place. I hope to go aboard tomorrow. Hermione was a revolutionary war era ship that brought General Lafayette to America; without him we might still be a British colony.

Do you have stand over heights for the Piolet?
Ooo! What kind of frame clearance on the small frames? Enough for 3"??
Just to be sporting, I'm going to guess that the curved look to that disc-mount dropout suggests a disc-ready Camargue or Campeur that retains the cool fork bend. Which would be pretty boss. Love that you guys never rest!
New dropout is also a new bottle opener.
I would love a black run of the stem! It seems like your stems are the only noir-neglected component.
In the picture of the bike at the Marin museum, what do the chromed tubes in front of the fork do?
Is there a price yet for the Piolet?
The Piolet frame and fork will most likely cost around $685.
I would love a noir stem for 26mm clamp 6 degree! I was just thinking yesterday how I wanted to grab your noir seatpost and matching stem, when I went to buy I realized you never made the normal stem in noir color.
How does the size S piolet have a slacker seat tube, longer TT, but shorter reach than the XS?
@.,
Toptube length is the dimension that determines how stretched you are over the bike. Reach is a function of bottom bracket position as well as toptube length. If you imagine a fixed point at the top of the seattube where it meets the effective toptube and increase the seattube angle, this moves the bottom bracket further back in relation to the handlebars. In other words, reach is a function of feet to hands, not saddle to hands. The seattube angle is increased on the smallest model to eliminate toe clip overlap with the front wheel. With only a slightly longer top tube on the S compared to XS model, the difference in seattube angle is enough to make the reach dimension technically shorter. In our experience, toe clearance and proper saddle-to-handlebar position is significantly more important than foot to hand position.
