There's a lot going on here at VO, mostly working on new designs that I can't write about yet. But I thought you might be interested in the following updates.
The Campeur racks are finally in production. We changed the mounting hardware from flat struts to rods (similar to those used on Nitto touring racks). This change was based on your feedback. Unfortunately getting this hardware made caused major delays, but you guys convinced me that it was a better mounting system. I'll try to arrange a special sea shipment as soon as production is finished. These are all hand welded so it takes some time to make them.
Our fancy Grand Cru chainguards are also in production The second version, which works with a front derailleur, is now being prototyped. If the initial prototype works as well as we hope we may have them by late fall; if design changes are required it'll obviously take longer.
I think we've been pretty good about keeping stuff in stock this spring, after the low inventory disaster of winter. But now we are starting to run out of a few thing. We have two containers on the way and everything should be back in stock in a few weeks.

Mountain or road hubs or 132.5?
You could fit two more bottle mounts inside that big frame. Looks nice, especially the color and the Campeur logo. What's the tire clearance?
Anthony, The rear spacing is 135mm.
Hi Nick, It's 38mm with fenders and something over 40 without. The frame's handling is optimized for 35-38mm tires.
Love that fork bend. Nice job with the design.
So excited for the racks. Glad to hear you went with tubular struts even if it delayed them. Any idea of the prices for the racks?
Campeur frame looks great. Loving that brake bridge and the fork bend. I might need to find a reason for a new bicycle.

I like that style of brake cable stop. It's identical to the one on my early 80's Specialized Stumpjumper.
I prefer a split stop there, myself.

Will you be selling the adjustment barrel insert on its own? That would be a real improvement on the improvised one I'm currently using.

I think you are doing some really interesting things with the concept of the traditional "Camping" frame. Fortunately, buying a frame with a build-up by Velo Orange doesn't have to break the bank for many buyers.

Stumpjumpers are quite variable in detail. My 1984 has a solid cable stop, no split, no adjuster.

TJ, Don't get me in trouble with those blasphemous suggestions. However, Vee is expected to come out with 11 new large-volume 650b models this year. There appear to be some fast dirt road options in the mix.
Is the VO passhunter frame still in the works? Wasn't it to replace to randonneur frame? The campeur looks wonderful!
I'm also curious about the Pass Hunter frame set. Is it still in the works? Do you guys have an ETA? I sure hope you keep that incredible sage green color.

That is quite a nice looking frame and your timing is impeccable. I am looking for just such a frame to build up a bike for camping. Can you tell me what wheel size it will take: 650b, 700c, or 26"? Thanks!
