VO 45mm hammered fenders are here and they are really hard to photograph, too darn shiny. The pattern is interesting, large octagons surrounded by small pentagons. $50 with all hardware.
We also have three new models of stainless steel fenders which I'll write about in a couple of days.

Croco fenders would be cool, but super expensive due to tooling costs.
We just received 650b stainless steel fenders. They should be available later this week.
Joking aside, matching lights would be great.
I'm sure there'd be a market for dynamo lights in the style of vintage Jos, Radios etc with modern innards - superbright LED, standlight etc.

VO has Zeppelin fenders. It's Honjo that has the Le Paon. Of course both styles were first made in France.
yes, shiny things with lots of edges don't photograph easily. low diffuse lighting and a long, stable exposure can help. flashes don't.

Yes, please-make them for 26" tires! There are a lot of us on Surly LHTs with 26" wheels and would LOVE to have these!

Another vote for 559, 26"! And as wide as you can get for traveling through rough places like Central Asia.
We could make these for 26" wheels, but it would require completely new tooling to make a wider version. 45mm is a little narrow for a 26" fender. We'll hold off any new versions until we see how well these, and other new fender models, sell. But we will a 60mm 26" stainless steel fender later this week.
The Camper frame is not yet in development, maybe for mid
2011. We're currently working on the Pass Hunter.

A 45mm 700c of the Zeppelin fenders to provide a lower cost version of Honjo's Le Paon would be heavenly.
What is the history of hammered fenders? Where, when, and why did they originate? Was hammered metal used in other products or art before it was applied to fenders?
Any chance for a matching rear reflector? What sources are there for vintage looking reflectors for currently available fenders?
Hammering is simply a way of shaping metal. You take a wooden form, hold a sheet of metal over it and whack away until it assumes the shape of the form. In ancient times hammering was used to make bowls and cookware, and in some areas, like North Africa, it still is. In the early 20th century it was popular for art-deco decorative items, vases and ice buckets for instance. We have some hammered cutlery and serving spoons at home.
Today rollers and dies replicate the look of hammered metal without actually hammering it. The problem is that such tooling is very expensive, so I wouldn't expect hammered lights, reflectors, and such until there is a much bigger market for them.

Any idea how these fenders will look with a 700c x 25mm tire? I understand that 10-12mm clearance is preferable but I wonder if the extra clearance will look silly.
10-12mm of clearance is minimal, not ideal. 15-20 is probably ideal.
Did you ever make the 26" wheel 60mm hammered fenders? Would really like a set of these for a surly LHT.
Any news on 26-in. hammered fenders? I really need a pair and I gather many others do as well.
