Thanksgiving, Closed Thursday & Friday

As usual we will be closed Thursday through Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday. So if you need an order shipped this week, please place it soon.

Also, thanks for all the great feedback on the frames post and on the branding post. As soon as I get back next week I'll start work on a new frame design. BTW, the Polyvalent frames are due to be delivered on Monday.

I'm taking most of tomorrow off to shop for Thanksgiving day food, the traditional oysters, wild mushroom soup,  duck confit, tart tatin etc.  Then we'll probably go for a bike ride in Western Maryland on Saturday.

Anyone eating really special food or doing cool bike related stuff over the holiday?

Have a great Thanksgiving!

I will be hiking in Big Bend N.P. for three days. I wish I could go cycling on their beautiful roads too, but that's not in the cards this year. Happy turkey day to everyone.

Making quince tartin, instead of apple!

There is also an onion version of tarte tatin, but quince sounds great.

While cranberry sauce is traditional - cranberry sauce made with lime zest is fantastic. It's astounding how quickly it goes away when it is made available.

I highly recommend it.

I'll be teaching my neice to ride a bike without training wheels. She's 7.
Aside from that, I'll be exploring the food and Zydeco of New Orleans for Thanksgiving.

John: Can you give me the recipe for the spaghetti squash dish? It sounds fantastic.

Our bike club here in Tampa is hosting a "leftovers ride" on Saturday...basically, a rolling picnic to a quiet city park overlooking the Hillsborough River where we can all share in each others' culinary creations.

For folks who eat too much at the event, I may offer shuttle-service via Xtracycle (to help burn off MY extra calories).

Happy holidays, everyone!

I organized a bike ride for some friends on Thursday. Should be great weather out here in SoCal!

Last night, I braised chicken in hard cider with parsnips, hedgehog mushrooms, and bacon.

Served that with red lentil soup, Brussels sprouts, and a wild green salad with walnuts and blue cheese.

Fantastic meal and pregame to thanksgiving.

Sweet Potato Pie...

Any update on when the Rando frames will be available? Want to know if I can put it on the Christmas list.

Listen, all you heretics, all these strange foods are outside The Pale. Lentils, spaghetti squash, onion tart, where are the turkey, pumpkin pie, sweet potatoes? In my tummy, thanks.

Hiking the Mendocino Headlands with my partner and her folks; distributing meals to shut-ins Thanksgiving afternoon and sitting down to a CLASSIC Pac NW dinner of salmon, mashed potatoes and gingered beets. YUM.
