We have two new wheels in stock:
- Grand Cru Touring Hub, RAID rim rear wheel, 130mm, 700c
- Grand Cru High Flange front hub, RAID rim wheel, 700c
We also now have these funny pedals. We noticed that a couple of VO staffers had these and loved them. One has some 20,000 miles on his pair (bearings were replaced). They are very comfortable with sandals or soft shoes and great for casual riding. Folks with large feet are especially fond of them!
Below are a couple of pics showing some things we're still working on. Details to follow.
I have the MKS Lambda pedals on two of my bikes and I love them. I mostly ride in town, with lots of stops & starts, and they work really well for that.
ReplyDelete"Slippery when wet" is the common complaint about them, which has some validity depending on the shoe, but Grant Peterson has the solution on the Rivendell site, which you guys could conceivably also offer, because it's the kind of thing you do. I enjoy my Lambdas/Grip Kings-great with street shoes.
ReplyDeleteDescribing these pedals as "funny" doesn't quite do them justice, IMHO. "Fun" could be better adjective?
ReplyDeleteLambda schmambda, look at those RACKS! Super psyched for something classic and [fingers crossed] considerably cheaper than the Nitto Campees...
ReplyDeleteYou rock, Chris!
What frame is that? Polyvalent 700c maybe?
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about having a rear rack built that would be awful similar to that rear rack. What's the ETA on these. Beautiful! Keep the good stuff coming.
ReplyDeleteThose racks look incredibly cool. That said, I'm still trying to figure out what bike can handle the VO porteur rack I bought!
ReplyDeleteI think I want to move up there, just so I can be a prototype equipment tester!
If you ever do a "half off on international shipping" I'd be game to ordering more goodies.
ReplyDeleteI get lots of looks here in the Netherlands for my VO honjo fenders. No one carries them in stock here and the closest I've found is London and half the time they are out of stock.
I think if you guys produced the PolyValent in that silver/grey color, you'd be much more likely to sell frames faster in a greater quantity than if you do that green Long Haul Trucker color... I'm just sayin... either way you'll sell through em.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the racks BTW.
That's a beautiful color on the bike in the pictures!! Will that be on a bike in production?
ReplyDeleteThe bike is the Polyvalent 700c and that's the final color choice. It's going through final testing.
ReplyDeleteThe touring racks still need two small changes and they will be ready to go into production.
I am sure Electra bikes thank you for the sneak peeks of your new--and, frankly, theirs as well--racks. To make it easier for them, maybe you could publish the measurements as well...
ReplyDeleteI find out about the extension after its over...no power and the hurricane is hurting!
ReplyDeleteWith the free shipping, I was expecting to wait more than a week for delivery -- package arrived in two days.
ReplyDeleteWell done, VO. You guys are consistently a class act.
Keep up the good work!
@anon
ReplyDeleteElectra will probably produce a cheap knockoff in china whether there's pictures or not...
I saw the mks pedals on your site recently but with a new name. I know them as 'grip kings' but Lambda sounds nice. Are they one in the same? They are beyond awesome and have had them on one bike for two years. The only slippery when wet experience was when I wore a pair of boots with no grips in heavy rain.
ReplyDeleteI have small feet, and love the grip kings because almost my whole foot is on the pedal giving me extra power and no unpleasant icky sharp bits to poke myself when I have a clumsy moment. These pedals are great for clumsy types and those with shoe addictions as well.
How about free shipping to Canada? It is always so disappointing to see 'free shipping!!' but not for Canada.
@veloorange the camper racks look really good; however, I don't see any mounting bolts for a dynamo headlight. Will that be one of the two changes that are needed?
ReplyDelete@bwee look closely by the rim.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see the 700c polyvalent. Any word on semi-horizontal drop out? I am hoping for just a little bit of travel. I think it would be neat if you offered a front rack/fenders that would match the polyvalent both 650b and 700c even just a small limited edition quantity.
