Once every few weeks our agent in Taiwan packs up samples and prototypes from various factories and sends them to us. Sometimes it's just odd bits, new hardware for fenders, a new color of cable housing, etc. But this time we got some really interesting stuff.
Here is a nice 10-tooth jockey wheel. It comes with shims to fit many derailleurs. Modern derailleurs use 11-tooth wheels, so it's getting hard to find replacements for vintage derailleurs.
This is the new black Grand Cru headset. I think it's rather handsome.
How about this stainless steel cable housing? It should be perfect for restoring older bikes. It has a modern low-friction lining, but no plastic coating on the outside.
A Velo Orange expedition rim? What were we thinking?
Neat stuff, but we're saving the best for last. Casey will explain tomorrow.
I like the direction you seem to be heading with your new products. Can't wait to see your 29er.
ReplyDeleteStainless steel cable housing? Yes Please!

Metal jockey wheels can be loud - any chance of having it made of Delrin or a similar plastic instead?
ReplyDeleteI really like the cable housing.
ReplyDeleteI have an older version of the housing and love it. I'd be happy putting it on my other bikes.
ReplyDeleteI'd love those jockey wheels. I love Bullseye pulleys, but the last ones have gotten stupid expensive.
ReplyDeleteColor options? Include green, too, please!

Cool stuff, esp.the SS cable housing and the jockey wheels!
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Jockey wheels- yes, multiple colors!
ReplyDeleteSealed bearings on the jockey wheels? And if you can include washers to replace older 40s/50s wheels on 3 and 4-speed derailleurs, then there'll finally be a durable substitute for old French gear like Simplex, Huret and Cyclo.
ReplyDeleteAny chance you could get/make a reproduction pearl cable housing like the old campagnolo stuff? I suspect that would sell well
ReplyDeleteten tooth drillium Jockey Wheels yes please! Green, red, blue, silver, black... whatever. Jeez... I suppose you could even anodize the precision bearing sealing face a contrast color too...... and make custom VO script for that bearing's face.... and create green vegan hydrocarbon free VO grease of some sort... made from Maryland roadkill possum livers and green algae... Ok... I'm stopping now...
ReplyDeleteWhile that stainless cable housing is nice, is there any chance of the bare stainless round-wire housing like was used OEM with Campy and SunTour barcons? Now THAT would be restoration-correct!
