It fits the Randonneur rack, Rando rack with decaleur, Pass Hunter rack, Pass Hunter rack with decaleur, and Constructeur front rack. Attachment is with the four, included, 5mm screws.
We suggest using a bungie cord or cargo net to secure your cargo in this, or any, basket-type rack. It wouldn't do to launch a precious microbrew when you hit a big bump.
Any idea if it fits on other co's racks like Soma Soma Champs Élysées Mini?
ReplyDeleteWhy not improve the design of your actual porteur racks instead of investing so much time and resources in something that is so application specific? I realize you're just jumping on the artisan alcohol portaging bandwagon and inevitably these will end up on some handmade bike in an overrated bike convention but being honest, the world doesn't need these racks. We need modern, triangulated, well designed porteur racks that integrate well with forks and have matching bags designed to mate securely with quick removal ability. These real rack/bag solutions can carry a 6 pack, 12 pack, bottles of wine or liquor, food, clothes and repair kits with ease and no additional bungees.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a "Wald-Style" wire basket that mounts in a similar manner? That would be super amazing! Better yet, could you develop something directly with Wald?
ReplyDeleteLadies and gentlemen, please don't drink and ride.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a fun idea. Sure there are other racks or options that are more versatile, but I see this as a cool addition to a bike that isn't a daily. I probably wouldn't put it on my campeur that I ride constantly but it certainly wouldn't be out of place on my cute summer fun bike. I also rock crocheted spoke guards and a hand painted patterned chainguard on that bike, other stuff I probably wouldn't take on tour but I like nonetheless.
ReplyDeletedoes it work with bottles. i wont drink beer in cans.
ReplyDelete@Anon 8/22 4:53pm,
ReplyDeleteCompatible with bottles. Get the paper bag from the store so the bottles stay put.
Wow Andy-squirrel, bit of a negative take on it I think...
ReplyDeleteVelo orange already make a whole range of great racks, bags, decaleurs etc. this new rack is just a bit of fun and something that you can't buy from every mainstream bike brand. Nobody is forcing you to buy one!
This is a great rack addition. It clearly doesn't have to carry beer. It's a good size for a small front bag to fit inside and be well protected.
ReplyDeleteWhat bike is featured in the photos, an older 700c rando? I want.
