The Big Pedal Named, "Sabot"

Thanks for all the great pedal names. We just had a staff meeting and chose "sabot", submitted by Everett. (Everett, please e-mail your last name and address.) A sabot is a bulky French wooden clog. If you wore sabots you would want these pedals.

We checked with the factory yesterday; the Grand Cru Sabot pedals should be here in about 6 weeks.

  1. So riding with these will be Sabotage?

  2. Sabotage was when workers would throw their sabots into the wooden gears of the textile looms to break the cogs, fearing the automated machines would render the human workers obsolete.

If you threw the pedals into, say a car's engine, you would be a saboteur committing an act of sabotage.

  3. Good choice. Not just because it keeps with the Francophilia of the who enterprise but because it is simple and not pretentious (well as not pretentious as a Francophile can be).

  4. Good choice! Much better than anything I thought of. :)

  5. Will these pedals accept toe clips?
It looks like they will. Leathered
    half clips would be great.

  6. Good name, because they reduce windage and increase velocity. And when you tire of them, you will discarding sabot.

  7. Preston, they are drilled for toe clips, but because they are so big the toe clips will be further forward than on most pedals. So get size small clips for them.

  8. Is there an estimated cost? Good looking out on the small two clips info.

  9. Greetings,

Revolutionary. An appropriately sized pedal for normal sized feet. Why did this take so long?

    Best regards

  12. The first photo of the Sabot looks like plain aluminum. The second looks like it has black trim. Am I seeing things correctly? Plain would be my preference

  13. Will they be installed with a normal pedal wrench? Would be really nice to have Allen wrench option too.

  14. There's no black trim, just shiny alloy.

They can be installed/removed with an Allen wrench or a pedal wrench
