The VO Mixte Build Kit is finally available. The cost is $595.
The kit include:
- VO Mixte Frame
- Tange Levin alloy headset
- Grand Cru Rando rack
- Grand Cru Seatpost
- Tektro R556 Brakes
- Temple bell
BTW, the reason for not re-ordering mixtes is that we're having a bit of a warehouse space crisis and we need to cut down on bulky items like frames. We are looking for more warehouse space in our neighborhood or, perhaps, a bigger building to house VO World headquarters when our lease expires. I think we'll also skip the fillet brazed frame project for now.
I hope you make more mixtes, but in a mellower color.
ReplyDeleteone vote for Cream for the next run
ReplyDeleteMe too, I do love the frame and will order one in a heartbeat if it was white or cream.
ReplyDeleteOne bike that really impressed me appearance-wise was a carbolite tubed Peugeot Mixte with yellow handlebar tape, blue frame. Something about the paint job made it outstanding truly, but with the kind of paint job on this bike, yes, Cream would be very attractive sortof along the lines of what some recent Raleigh Club Man's have been.
ReplyDeleteBuy VO Mixte now and have it powder coated. It would only add about $100 or so.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that some frame projects are on hold, I hope your warehouse problem resolves itself soon.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what other goodies are clogging up your warehouse!
Are VO wingnuts in the future? I remember a mention of them, are they going to be put into production?
ReplyDeleteI'm also interested in the wingnuts.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I hope they come soon.
ReplyDeleteantbikemike I bought one and want to have it repainted. do I need to strip all the paint, or can I just lightly sand and repaint? Also is the mixte already powder coated, what is the paint job on there now?
ReplyDeleteThe frames are painted, not powder coated. It's always best to strip the existing finish before redoing it.
ReplyDeleteCan the mixtes take 650B wheels or just 700C?
ReplyDeletePutting 650b wheels on a frame like this would be silly. The only reason to convert frames is to turn racing frames into all-around frames. This frame is already designed to be an all-around frame.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I get touch-up paint for a 2010 blue mixte? I have looked around in the Blog and seen reference to Dupont Imron 5351 Blue, but Imron is a catalyzing paint not so user friendly for touch ups.
ReplyDeleteDid you fix your warehouse problem?? I want a VO mixte!
ReplyDeleteDitto here, Julia! Call me a neo-yuppie or whatever, but lugged mixtes remind me of my beloved college cafe days. Normally I'd feel guilty making decisions solely based on aesthetics but Velo Orange's high quality would mitigate this guilt. So, please, Velo Orange powers that be, bring back your mixte so I may have my cake and eat it, too!
ReplyDeletePlease bring the beautiful mixte back.
ReplyDeleteYou now have more space and have a lot more frames made!
please bring back the mixte!
