This is just a quick note since so many people have been e-mailing asking when the next shipment of what may be the
world's most beautiful water bottle cages will arrive.
We also have a new VO bottle cage mount that fits on, yes just as you requested, handlebars. It's made of extruded aluminum and are intended for city bikes, so fit bars up to 25.4mm. The cost is $3.50.
(I know some of will want to use them on the 26mm "sleeved" road bars. In that case you'll need to file just a touch off the top edge of the "hinge" section so it opens a little wider. Of course, it's no problem to use them on "bulged" road bars or beside the sleeve.)
"world's most beautiful cages" only until the VO ones, arrive, right?
ReplyDeleteMichael, That goes without saying ;<)
ReplyDeleteBTW, the production of VO cages was delayed. The original factory was unable to get everything up to our standards so we are now waiting for prototypes from a second factory. I think they are already on their way and I'm told they look better.
If they look like the Toei cages at 1/4 the price you'll be able to retire :)
ReplyDeleteI love the water cage mount...minoura makes a horrid one and Soma makes a big clunky thing more starbuckish than Petes coffee...but this mount allows one to admire that nitto water cage just perfectly...thank you
ReplyDeleteSandpaper: Starbucks owns Pete's, FYI
ReplyDeleteThis is off topic, but Peet's is not owned by Starbucks. It trades independently (on NASDAQ, I believe). PEET is the ticker symbol. Starbucks bought Seattle's Best Coffee a decade or so ago.
ReplyDeleteOn topic: love the handlebar mount and look forward to the VO cages.
Apologies, it was owned by the Starbucks guys, but not for a while.
ReplyDeleteThey are in collusion though, to some extent. Penn State's campus, as a rule, is a single vendor per service buyer (ie only pepsi, only nike) and sells seattle's best, starbucks, and peet's... HMMMMM....
nice. I've one of those ugly minoura things. why is it the vast majority of US cycling stuff is so freakin' ugly?
