Grand Cru 110bcd Cranks Are Here

As we wait for the new site to filter through the inter web tubes, I thought we'd post a few shots of the GC 110bcd double crank. We just received a small advanced shipment of these by air. The rest will arrive by ship in a few weeks.

They come with 48/34t 7075 alloy rings; that means they'll last a long time. The 7075 rings really are a big deal; that's why TA rings are so expensive. The price is $190 and the q-factor is around 140mm. The 170mm and 175mm lengths are here. 165mm and 172.5mm lengths will arrive later. And, yes, the arms are cold forged. Weight is around 670g. The dust caps/bolts are self-extracting. Uses a 110mm BB.

The two new Grand Cru drop bars have also arrived. We'll take photos soon.

Then there is the new model VO saddle. It's shape and dimensions are close to that of the Team Pro. Photos and details coming soon.

Oh sure ... make everything look even prettier ... then add new shiny cranks to your product list ... and a new saddle, too. Don't you think it's already difficult enough to keep from spending all of my money with you? It's a good thing you're out of Porteur bars and Ostrich front bags, or I'd have to buy some of those, too!

Seriously ... beautiful crankset! Can't wait to see the new saddle. Sounds like a great idea! The only think I don't like about my Team Pro is the incredibly short rails, and I assume your new model has longer ones like your others.

By the way ... your Grand Cru Cliper Brakes are VERY nice ... a huge improvement over the Tektros. Just installed them today and can really feel the difference. The only remaining flex is in my levers. Well worth the price!

I hope that ten millimeter hex key is gonna be strong enough to remove those dustcaps from the crankarms.

GREAT to hear that there will be 172.5 in the works...the 172.5 group sometimes gets left out:(

:):):)

I can't lie. I don't need these at all at the moment, but I feel like I want them anyway... Thanks for the porn VO.

How much do they weigh ?

Holy hell. These are going on my Cross Check. They will match the Honjo fenders, polished Shimano cantis, and Jitensha flat bars I already spent a damn fortune on.

Then new wheels with wide-range cassette, derailleurs, shifters . . . the addiction continues!!!

Wow!

Will there be a single chainring (42T perhaps) version for those of us using internal gear hubs?

How do they make the crabon fiber so shiny and all silver-like? :)

Yup. That's what should have gone on my orange PY-10. Too bad those Impacts will never die.

are these cranks polished or anodized?

Very purty. and I love the ring sizes.

bb length?

May be helpful to add the recommended spindle length to the store info as well.

Looks pretty. Well done.

Seriously, I just replaced my crank with a 48-34 compact double last week! My new crank is shiny, but it's nowhere near this pretty.

Do you know how many kilometres I'm going to have to ride to justify replacing my brand-new crank with one of these?

Holy crap! Amazing!

Sure, I can go to the local bike junk store and get some 20 year old Sugino 110s for $5, but, boy, I really, really, really want these. I like them better than the faux-TA cranks!

So, speaking of Porteur bars (several comments up), any word on when they will be coming in? I heard end of September a while back, and that is now! :)

Beautiful crank...I would love one on the retro British racer I'm planning! Is there a disadvantage to the low Q factor? I wondered if the chain might catch the inside of the crank arm, or perhaps shoes rub on the chain stay? Could this be adjusted by using a longer bottom bracket, or would this mess up the chain line?

hmmmm, did you guys get rid of the stress riser in the spider that killed so many campy record cranks? (mine included)

Love the site, you guys do such good work. You have begun to instill american consumers with a search for quality. No small task that.

Thanks and keep it up!
